Architectural Digest Home Show 2012

Nothing gets the creative juices flowing like a trip to the Big Apple on a perfect Spring day.  Add to that mix 300 booths with talented people and the latest design trade products and you have just described a day in our lives last week.  The Architectural Design Home Show 2012 highlights for us are shown here:

A wood product vendor displayed a modern version of wood panelling with great texture.  I’ve actually seen this installed as a feature wall behind a free standing tub in a master bath.

These were large acrylic sheets of computer generated photography…

…and quite affordable considering their size.

Versatile too.  I can see this in almost any room.

This sink is a concrete product with a smooth finish.  The base is sheets of blackened steel. Very sculptural.

There were a number of artisans at the show doing amazing things in wood.  I love how this coffee table takes advantage of the natural patterns in the grain creating an abstract work of art.

This kitchen backsplash is done in glass mosaic tile.  You have to get real close to appreciate the incredible detail.

More furniture as art.  Note the tiny people perched on the back slats of the chair.

This mirror is framed in leather.  We love the way it’s hung with a huge bronze tack.

There were so many other inspiring ideas at the design show, and we can’t wait to use them in our projects!
