DIFFA

DIFFA (Design Industry Foundation Fighting Aids) had a wonderful display at the Architectural Digest Design Show this year. It was entitled Dining by Design and all participants expressed their creativity in tablescape installations.  Here are some of our favorites:

This is the tablescape sponsored by Benjamin Moore Paints.  It was a creative way to showcase their colors by using paper cut-outs both above and on the table.  I love how the books on each place setting announce the name of the color as it it were a place card.

This simple tablescape is all white candles.  What you can’t see clearly is that white wax has been poured over the entire table and drips down the sides creating a wax tablecloth.  I’m trying to figure out how to do this and make it reusable…maybe by applying wax to a plain door which then can be placed on top of a dining table?

Another vignette showcased these great brush back chairs.  I struggled to see if these were actually functional or just for fun.  There is no visible means of support in the back.

The DIFFA display was a show unto itself!
