Early into the design process, it was apparent that the client desired a high caliber of quality both in the architecture and the furnishings. Many hours of meticulous detailing and on site supervision were necessary to achieve the intricate interplay of materials and finishes. Several out of town buying trips were required to assemble the antiques. And yet, above all, the client wanted their home to be welcoming and approachable; not a museum. The result: reportedly, the single most repeated comment visitors make upon entering their home is to exclaim how warm and welcoming it is.
